Gotta love me a good before and after photo! When ever I feel like I'm having an off day, it helps me see the progress of my work as I edit a gallery. ;)
We take great care in custom editing each individual photo so that each and every image can be a stand alone piece of work within the full body of a collection. <3
Here's a before and after pic of a recent bridal session. On the left you see the photo strait out of the camera, and on the right, after it's been shown some love, and attention and been enhanced in post production.

Chances are you've stumbled upon our humble blog because you're thinking about getting some professional portraits done some time in the near future!
While this article is mostly geared toward Engagement Photos, (and you can follow the link to our beautiful Pinterest board with tons of color palettes and outfit combinations to help you look great on picture day) these five tips will work for anyone that's about to get in front of the camera!
Click here for to see our outfit pairings and color palettes:
Or continue reading for a few great tips!
Top 5 Tips to make you look fab in your Engagement Photos:
1. Try Bright Colors.
While you may not want to go overboard and do ALL brights, a few pops of bright color will liven up almost any neutral palette, and add extra flare to even the most simple wardrobe. Have fun! Try bringing in one or two pops of color and building the outfit around it - Like a bright solid dress or skirt for the ladies, or a bright solid shirt for the guys, and then add matching accessories and layers!
2. Say NO to BUSY PATTERNS and LOGOS
Do try to stay away from busy patterns and words on clothing. Subtle patterns work well, but anything with words or a design that's too bold will stick out like a soar thumb and become distracting in the finished product.
3. DO TRY - SUBTLE PATTERNS and SOLID COLORS
Subtle patterns and Solid colors work great!! For those of you who don't want to have to think too hard about what outfits you want to wear, this is your safest (and easiest) bet!
4. Please NO Matchy- Matchy!
Try not to match each other exactly. For example: Both wearing blue jeans, and white shirts. We've all seen it... And most of us have been apart of it at one point in our lives or another..but please! Try to steer clear of this one as much as possible or risk dated looking photos and that dreaded JCPenny Portrait look!
Rather than that, try to pick a palette of colors that go well together and stay within those handful of colors. When having several colors to choose from rather than just 1 or 2, it sure does make shopping or looking through the closet a lot easier!
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST....
5. Get Comfy!!!!
Another DO! - DO Wear clothes that you are comfortable in and that make you feel great! If you're constantly feeling like you have to "suck it in", or like you keep having to adjusting your wardrobe, that's probably not the outfit you want to break in that day. Your discomfort in your "foreign" attire will make you fidget and won't come across well in your photos. So pick something that makes you feel fab! And those tried and true wardrobe picks you've always loved!
Hope these 5 tips gave you a little inspiration! Now get out there and be your fabulous selves!
As always,
Thanks for reading! <3

It was a stormy weekend in San Antonio. Everyone had their fingers crossed that the incoming thunderstorm would hold off and make way for Stephanie and Will's special day.
To everyone's delight the weather just happened to clear up perfectly just long enough for the ceremony and creatives, and as soon as we were all safely inside for dinner and dancing, it began to pour! That's some good luck for ya there!!
It was this past Saturday that a group of Stephanie and Will's closest friends and family gathered together from all across the country to take part in honoring the public expression of their love and commitment, and to celebrate this new chapter in the couple's lives. The joy and support shared by all who were there was something strong. It was almost tangible.
Here are just a few of my favorite shots from their big day!
Location: Club Giraud, San Antonio, TX
Putting on some final touches.
I now pronounce you Man and Wife!
Pretty maids all in a row!
Strike a pose boys!
Quick! Do a silly one! ;D
We hurried off to the Alamo to get some creative shots. These are a few of my favs.
And the classic, "I'm at the Alamo" shot, hehe
Where Will popped the question and she said, "YES!" <3
lovely details
That cake!
Cheers Guys! Congratulations on the beginning of your new family! May you have many more happy years ahead of you!

It's hardly a finished product until it's printed and framed! I encourage you, don't just let those digital files stay on a cd or what have you that gets tossed aside in a drawer somewhere. You will only begin the see the true value of a photograph when it's printed and displayed in front of your eyes. Those tiny iPhone and laptop screens don't do them justice. Take advantage of your personalized art and let it live up to it's true potential!
I promise you'll begin to fall in love with your photos all over again when you see them for what they were meant to be! <3

Aww! Look at that face! xoxo
Mad respect for all you parents with young children. I just got a 6month old puppy a couple weeks ago and he is a handful! I'm slowly getting used to it, but communicating with a young, high energy dog that needs lots of exercise and attention is totally new to me. I've officially realized how NOT ready I am to take care of a human baby which is so much more involved. Lol. One minute I'm following up with a client, the next I'm springing up from my chair to guide the puppy out of something he shouldn't be getting into..we both have a lot to learn. Lol

They met unexpectedly at a dance hall one evening when hanging out with a mutual friend. And though seeing each other was challenging at the beginning due to opposite work schedules, they found a way to make it happen as their love slowly grew.
Now they are looking forward to a spring wedding in Nashville, where they will celebrate their love with a few of their closest friends and family.
Here are a few of my favorite pics from Knox and Lauren's Engagement Session at the Mcnay Art Museum.
One of my absolute new favorite places to shoot! This little stone bridge over the koi pond was so full of lush green and romance!

We headed out just as the sun began to fade to get some beautiful, and a little more dramatic, night portraits. Brittney, you rocked it, girl!! You're such a stunner!
It was a beautiful evening for portraits, the weather was fab, and though this is a style that I don't as commonly do, it's always fun to mix it up a bit!
Thanks Brittney, for wondering around is the dark with me to get the right shots, haha! It was a pleasure! ;D
Here's a couple sneak peaks from our session this evening. Hope you like!

What do you think of the Night Portrait look as opposed to my usual day time or sunset photos??

Rewind to just a few short years ago.
She had just arrived to San Antonio to help her aunt pack and prepare to move to a new state.
What she didn’t know what that her seemingly ordinary trip to be there for a family member, would be the trip that changed the course of her life, the trip where two paths would cross that could not be untangled.
Her stay in San Antonio was scheduled to last a few months. Being that it was going to be quite a lengthy trip, she decided to get a job at a Local restaurant. It was a new and happening place just on the river, and just so happened to be the same place that Manolo was already employed.
As she started her job, Teresa was the new, cute girl at work, and Manolo had heard about her from a couple of the several guys wanting to get a bit of her attention. However, It wasn’t until a Halloween Party shortly after that they were formally introduced, and the spark that lit between them happened instantly!
A few weeks went by, Teresa’s Aunt had a birthday party. Manolo, of course, would attend as he was eager to spend some more time with this girl! A night on the town for some drinks, accompanied by some of their friends. The two would soon become inseparable. Quickly they began to realize that the connection that they had was something special. Just a few short months, Teresa would decide to make San Antonio her future home to continue her relationship with this very special guy.
This is a relationship, that I’ve had the pleasure to witness it’s blossoming and growth from up close. Manolo and Teresa’s relationship progressed with ease, and it is plain for anyone to see that these two compliment each in a special way.
This past Saturday, a group of their closest friends and family gathered in Teresa’s hometown to witness them pledge their love and commitment to one another, and begin their new life together.
Here's just a few of my favorites from this beautiful, fairy-tail like wedding:
The lace detail and beading on this beautiful vintage style dress was just breathtaking!
Gifts' for the groomsmen. Customized flask with a Hemingway quote!
Mother - Daughter <3
"The beginning of our Greatest Adventure!"
The Kiss!
Cheers to you two! May you have many more happy years ahead of you!
